I'm so sorry to hear of Bob's passing. He was a remarkable man, somehow balancing the many opposing forces as the city developed into the best City in USA (if you ask me!) and he did it without fanfare or reward. We should all be grateful! But I will remember him best as a man who loved his family, and the unforgettable sunsets he watched on the Chesapeake Bay. Please accept my sincere sympathy. I am very sorry for your loss. My dad always spoke so highly of him as a result of their relationship when my dad was on the Planning Commission. You all have been through so much the last couple of years. Please know you have been and continue to be in my thoughts and prayers. God bless.

Denise, I'm very sorry to hear of Robert's passing. When I first met him in August 1988, he was very helpful in my quest to build a house next door to where I live. What a consummate professional and gentleman he will always be remembered as.

Bob had a hand in many of the things we enjoy today in Virginia Beach. A kind, intelligent, honorable man. I am honored to have worked with him, and known him.

Such a kind man. I remember him well when he worked for the City of Virginia Beach.

Bob was a true gentleman. I met him when we both worked for Virginia Beach. He was always easy to talk to, even when we disagreed on a topic. Not only was he a good golfer, but he was also a good softball player. We were on the same team for several years. I know he'll be missed. Please accept my condolences.

Bob Scott was the single most influential person in my professional life. He was an authentic, honest, courageous and inspirational man who, as Planning Director, was indispensable in shaping the City of Virginia Beach as we know it today. Beyond that, he was a leader I and many others will always respect and never forget. Bob, May you rest in peace in God's loving arms.
