Robert Seibel Obituary

RICHARD M. SEIBEL, M.D., 81, Indianapolis, IN, died June 29, 2004. Dr. Seibel served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War and is a member of Old Bethel United Methodist Church, Nashville Masonic Lodge #135, served as Grand Master of Masons in Indiana in 1968-69, was a member of the Scottish Rite, Valley of Indianapolis and was a 33rd degree Mason and a member of the Learning Center Board, served on the Board of Directors of the Indiana Masonic Home, member of Lukes Lodge and was instrumental in the building of Morningstar Golf Club in Indianapolis. Dr. Seibel was a graduate of Drake University and a 1946 graduate of Iowa Medical School. He started his medical practice in Brown County in 1948 and practiced there for over 50 years. He was the Brown County Health Officer for over 50 years. Survivors: wife Beatrice (Walker) Seibel, whom he married on June 15, 1947; sons Robert Seibel (Susan) and David Seibel (Linda); sister Mary Lou Manoles (Nick); grandchildren Nathan Maire, Matthew Seibel, Rachel Seibel, Christopher Seibel, David Seibel and Raymond Seibel. A daughter Roberta Maire preceded him in death. Memorial services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 3, 2004, at Old Bethel United Methodist Church, with visitation after 10 a.m. Saturday at the church. A Masonic Memorial Service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday, July 2, 2004, at Old Bethel United Methodist Church. Contributions may be made to Old Bethel United Methodist Church and the Scottish Rite Learning Center. Funeral arrangements: Flanner & Buchanan Funeral Center - Washington Park East.
