My most vivid memory of Uncle Robert was in the summer at our home In Mamaroneck. He was sitting leaning against a large tree for support and shade, totally absorbed in a law book. On a more personal note, after not seeing me for a while, he would turn his noble face to mine and ask me how I was doing. He was always pleased with the answer - the perfect uncle.

Dear Sheran family:
I am the daughter of the late Justice George and Joyce Scott. I know my parents enjoyed Justice Sheran very much. Dad passed in 2006 and mom passed last year.
I had the wonderful opportunity to share time with Dean Sheran at Hamline Law School. He was a wonderful, caring sweet and intelligent man. I was actually just thinking about him last week. I am so sorry for your loss.
It is difficult to lose the ones we love, especially our parents. My sympathy to you all.

To the Family of Bob Sheran. I am writing for Fr. George Kovalik who remembers your family from when he was Pastor at Marysberg and Elysian(sp?). He often spoke of your Dad. You may remember, Tom, he asked me to call you and tell you he was voting for you, and to say hi to your dad for him. Fr. George has early dementia, but remembered your dad right away when I told him, and asked me to send his sympathy. Fr. George Kovalik, Minneapolis

Dear Kathy,
I am so very sorry for your loss.
I saw your father only once, and then just for a few minutes. It was in your living room and we were probably juniors or seniors. He had such a presence that I still remember him. Many years later I met my father-in-law-to-be, a presiding judge in South Dakota, and found him to be so like the impression I had of your father.
May you always feel his loving presence in your life.
Sincerely,
Ellen DiGangi Hall, Vis '65

I worked for Judge Sheran at Lindquist & Vennum in the mid-80s for a few years. He was an incredible, amazing man with such a distinguished presence. He would often leave the office, not telling me, and would then phone in for messages - when all the time I thought he was in his office. I still get a chuckle out of that to this day and have always remembered him quite fondly. My thoughts and prayers go out to the Sheran Family. Judge Robert Sheran will certainly be missed.

Good-bye to Uncle Bob, but the memory of him sitting reading, leaning against one of the big trees we had surrounding our house in Mamaroneck, NY on Orienta will always remain. No one was ever so interested in reading and scholarship as that uncle. Such a gentleman! Melanie Lauer Stamford, CT

It was an honor and privilege for me to be one of his caregivers these past four years. He was a kind, gentle, and soft spoken man with a smile and laugh I shall never forget. My heart and prayers go out to the family. Robert will forever be in my memory.

In 1964 Bob had been recently appointed as Associate Justice and I was fortunate enough to be chosen to be his law clerk. Working with him was a joyful experience I have always treasured. He was truly a gentleman and a scholar and an example in every way of living.
Godspeed, Bob; and to his family my most heartfelt condolences.

It was my privilege to office next to him in Mankato. An outstanding lawyer and Judge. Even greater as a citizen and human being. The passing of an outstanding gentleman.
