Dad:

I think of you every day and our time spent together. It's hard to believe that you have been gone for 4 years now. But I know that you are in a better place and for that I am thankful. Play your piano loud and clear dad and keep sending me your signs to let me know you are with me. Your chimes in the back yard ring so often, in unison with Kendra's chimes, to let me know you are together. For that I am grateful but missing both of you so. I love you more dad. I always have.

Happy 90th Birthday Dad ...today I will celebrate you and remember our good times together. I keep looking for the butterflies as your signs that you are with me. Your pillow case that was full of butterflies two years ago was your last message to me. They bring me strength and hope. Just know that I love you and miss you every day. If I have the strength today I may even get a frosty after work to celebrate you. I love and miss you more dad . .

Dad:
It's hard to believe that it's been 2 years since your passing. Today was a difficult day remembering your last moments here in the physical world. But I know that you are now pain free and happy. That's all that matters. I miss you and love you more . .

Uncle Bert was my only uncle since he was the only brother to my mom and my dad had only sisters! Due to my dad's military career, our family was usually on the opposite coast so visits were very special and, unfortunately, not frequent. Even though I was very young during those early visits, I remember Uncle Bert always laughing and always upbeat. As I got older, I was truly able to enjoy his sense of humor. He was not afraid to say or do something to put everyone in stitches. Uncle Bert, you will be missed by us all, and you are probably wise-cracking about something at this moment. Heaven will be laughing with you. We are sad, but you leave us with memories that make us smile.

Wendy and Leslie,
That was a wonderful service for your dad. And very nice to be placed in the Korean War Veterans Memorial. The wind chimes with a vial of his ashes were a wonderful touch, I am sure you will enjoy them each time you here them. To all his family, my deepest condolences. Love to you all. :)

Uncle Bert was always a fun Uncle. As a kid I would look forward to visiting with him as he always had some fun stuff lined up for us kids. Lisje and I really appreciated that he came up to attend our wedding, and our albums still have some pretty funny shots of him taken during our group photos.God Bless you Uncle Bert, for a humorous approach to life often makes the path easier. You have earned an excellent place in Heaven. We will remember you fondly.

We shared the joyous times and we shared the rough times.... and those memories will always be lovingly remembered.
Our visits grew less frequent as we hit our senior years, but we always looked forward to our phone calls, and those I will miss dearly.

Uncle Bert was a very funny man, as seen in the picture uploaded to the guest book with his sisters Molly and Ada back from March 2010. We could always be sure there would be laughter and good times when we visited him in Arizona! Good memories! We always knew everyone would eventually be rolling in laughter at some point for some silly pose or remark made by Uncle Bob (or Bert as we often called him). God Bless you Uncle; may you rest in peace!

Happy Birthday Dad!
This is as difficult to write as it is to believe. Today, your special day, I wish I could enjoy one more chocolate frosty with you. You gave it your all over the last few months and as you described it best .. "I've covered a lot of real estate over the last few months." I know you are with our loved ones playing your piano and organ that you so dearly loved. I love you too dad and as you said . ."it's frozen in ink."

I Love You More,

Wendy
