Marianne and Brendon,
Please accept my heartfelt sympathies and my daily prayers for your continued strength through this very distressing time. I knew Bob not only through high school, but also through our church connection in Davenport. Such vitality, such a sunny, freely-given smile, and such a laugh, all combined with his talent. This world is a lonelier place without him. It was great to see him at our Class Reunion this summer, and I shall cherish the memory of his "impish grin" from talking with him then.

Dear Marianne, Brendon, and family: How saddened and affected I am today at this news that you have lost your husband, father, son, brother. The loss of such a person as Bob is just plain huge. We who knew him as a young person could see at the reunion that all those good things only improved with age. As a recent widow myself, you have all my empathy and consideration. His gift to all of us, but especially to you, his precious family, was great, and he will be greatly missed.

Marianne, I am very much saddened and shocked at Bob’s death. I have known Bob, as you know, for a long, long time and have some wonderful memories of him. When Steve and I saw you two at the class reunions, it was obvious that the two of your were very much in love and a very happy couple.
Please, please accept our heartfelt sympathies and pass along our sorrow to your son and Bob’s family. Bob, I always assumed, was the picture of health. I guess this shows all of us how fragile life is and to live each day to its’ fullest.
If there is anything we can do, please let us know, and again, we are so very sorry for your huge loss. Bob was a fantastic person and will be very much missed!
May God Bless you in this time of sorrow!!

Dear Marianne, Brendon, Richard, Majorie, Edwin, Mary, and all the members of Bob's family,
My heart aches for you with the loss of precious Bob. I went to high school with him and recently had the privilege of visiting with him at our reunion in August. His gentle spirit and delightful grin seemed to get better over the years, and I consider it a great honor to have known him. I pray that your hearts find comfort and peace. Blessings, Susan
