I crewed for Bob on his J-22 for a while when I lived in Minneapolis. I was a newly transitioned Navy officer looking to race. Bob not only taught me the finer points of racing a J-22 but also how to make a perfect Bombay Sapphire & tonic upon returning to his dock. I've always thought of you when I drink one and will always remember your thoughtfulness and graciousness both on and off the water. Raising my glass to you, skipper!

I just learned of Bob's passing today and I am so very sorry for your loss. I adored Bob. He was a huge part of my life growing up. Meg - I loved hanging out with you and Bob when you would come over to our house. I remember several New Year's Eves spent enjoying time with my parents and the two of you. Treasured times. Bob was a lovely man with a kind heart and a gentle spirit. The last time I saw him was at my Dad's (Doug Lowe) service. Two life long friends are now gone. We will keep their stories alive. My heart goes out to all of you. Bob made a difference in my life and I am very grateful that I knew him.

I had the pleasure of taking Bob for (what I believe to be) his last sail. It was a 3 generation event with Bob, Peter, and Cavan. Bob pulled his own mainsheet. The event was orchestrated by AgeWell.

Bob was one of my early instructors on the J-22. He kindly taught me just how the spinnaker should fly. I am still grateful for the lessons.

Bob was and is a sailing pillar on Lake Minnetonka. Bob and Meg's involvement and support extended to international sailing competition. Bob's smiles, enthusiasm, and tales about ladies and sails will be remembered among many for many years.

When I was 16 and Bob was 18, for some reason our parents were willing to approve a trip for the two of us to go alone to Sun Valley for spring vacation. Without getting into the details, we had a wonderful time. We've been friends ever since.

Bob was a wonderful role model and leader. We served on WYCs board where Bob was so effective in building consensus in a friendly and respectful manner. A competitive sailor, I usually finished watching his transom. Thank you for the lessons, Bob.

A leader, a gentleman, a kind soul. Much respect and appreciation for Bob.

My cousin Bob was very helpful in guiding me as I developed my own Market Reseach Company. He made it sound like so much fun. As so many are saying, my fellow Market Research associates all called him "Gentleman Bob". What a wonderful way to be remembered. I will miss him, as will my husband, Steve.

A gentleman, a wit, a scholar, a good friend, a helluva sailor and the only male to ever be admitted to the all-women sailing group The Sibyls. We love him and will most certainly miss him.

Bob was a research client when he was at CL. He was very smart, understanding and had a great sense of humor; I always enjoyed working with him. He loved his sailing including ice sailing. He also loved to talk about his home and Lake Minnetonka. I am sorry he has passed on. He was truly a gentlman I admired and missed after he retired.

I was so sad to learn today of Bob's death. I worked with Bob at Carmichael Lynch and have very fond memories of him. I always looked forward to working with him - I appreciated his kind and gentle manner and his mischievious sense of humor.

I am another CLer who worked with Bob and was very saddened to read of his death. I posted it on my Facebook page and many of us are reminiscing about his lovely, gentlemanly manner and the hilarious sketch he did at one of our early talent shows (called the O'Gong show, right around St. Patrick's Day) which involved a nicotine patch as he was trying to quit smoking. We all have very fond memories of Bob. He will be missed.

I worked with Bob at Carmichael Lynch and always appreciated his kind and helpful manner. He was a good soul and a true gentleman.

Bob was one of my favorite people in the world. We were co-workers for 6 years and had such fun working together. He was smart, funny, and a true generous soul. I will miss him so much. Thank you for making my days brighter, Dr. Bob.
