Mr. Robert Grant "Bob" Smith, age 77, of Toccoa, passed away Sunday, July 26, 2015 at his home. Born October 16, 1937 in Brownstown, IL, He was a son of the late Don Woodrow and Suzie Iris Kollmann Smith. Mr. Smith was employed by Caterpillar for 35 years. He was a member of Rock Creek Baptist Church and enjoyed NASCAR Racing. Survivors include his wife, Marjorie Singleton Smith of the home; two sons, Ricky "R. G." Smith, and Roger Keith Smith and wife, Lisa; two daughters and sons-in-law, Rhonda J. Gehle and Brent and Kim J. Strobel and Chuck, all of Brownstown, IL; step-daughters and spouses, Cheryl and Larry Richardson of Hartwell, Deborah and Robert Worley, of Buford, Jan and Virgil Gonzalez of Toccoa; a step-son and his wife, Johnny and Annette Cheek of Toccoa; a sister and brother-in-law, Blanche and B. C. Fowler of Toccoa; a brother and sister-in-law, Donald Joe and Ruby Smith of Arizona; 14 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Agnes Fern Smith and Iris June Willis; and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at eleven o'clock Wednesday July 29, 2015 at Rock Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Ken Jackson officiating. Burial will follow at Rock Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the mortuary from 5pm - 8pm Tuesday July 28, 2015. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Alan Winkler, Larry Segars, Joe Smith, Johnny Cheek, Ernie Shirley, and Larry Richardson. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Regency Hospice of Hiawassee 350 S. Main Street Hiawassee, GA 30546. Whitlock Mortuary is in charge of the arrangements.
