Robert L. Smyers, 94, of Gardners, PA, passed away peacefully with his wife and family by his side, on Sunday, June 29, 2025, in the UPMC Carlisle. He was born December 13, 1930, in Idaville, to the late Benjamin E. and Nellie (Showers) Smyers.

Bob was a graduate of the Biglerville High School, Class of 1948, and served in the United States Army during the Korean era. He worked for Harrisburg Auto Parts and later the Gettysburg National Bank or CCNB, where he retired in 1993 after 25 years of service. Bob enjoyed taking care of his antique cars, working in the yard, and being with his friends and family. He was a member of the Carlisle Masonic Lodge #260, the Consistory and the Zembo Temple Shrine. He was also a member of the Idaville Global Methodist Church and held many offices.

Surviving is his loving wife of 52 years, Bonnie (Haskell) Smyers of Gardners and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at 12:00 PM in the Hollinger Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 501 N. Baltimore Ave., Mt. Holly Springs, PA 17065, with Pastor Gary Fanus officiating. A viewing will be held two hours prior to the service and burial will be held in the Bendersville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Idaville Global Methodist Church, 2850 Old Carlisle Rd., Gardners, PA 17324.

Bonnie would like to thank her family, friends and the staff of UPMC Carlisle for the excellent care they gave Bob during his stay.
