OBITUARY ROBERT "BOB" SPACKMAN Eighty-three, Bedford, NS, peacefully went home to be with his Lord and Saviour on Wednesday, April 27, 2011 in hospital. Born and raised in Montreal, was a son of the late Charles & Rose (Fitch) Spackman. Bob grew up in the Park Extension area and was a faithful member of the Salvation Army Park Extension Corps where he was the Scout and Sunday School leader for many years, shaping countless lives. He was instrumental in the development of the West Island Salvation Army Corps, where he spent many years as the Sgt. Major. Beginning his career with the Chartered Trust & Executors, Bob moved through the ranks to become the Head of the Stock Transfer Dept. Finally, retiring from Canada Trust in 1986 after forty-three years of service. He then moved to the Maritimes where he pursued other endeavours as an entrepreneur and to enjoy his retirement. His kindness, patience and generous spirit will remain in our hearts. His greatest accomplishments were that of being a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was loved by many and touched all who knew him. He is survived by his loving wife of forty-two years, Gail (Carter); children, Rose (Jim) Thibodeau, Beverley (Diego), Brian, Muriel (Chris) Pilarcik, Sandra, Heather (Jordie); twelve grandchildren, siblings, Mabel, Charles, Ethel, Elsie; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Dorothy McIvor. Visitation on Monday, with Funeral on Tuesday. Rememberance may be sent to Full Gospel Church, 806 Kearney Lake Road.
