SUTTTON Robert J. Spain, 70, of 665 Central Turnpike, Monday, Nov. 24th in his home, after an illness.

He leaves his wife of 49 years, Patricia A. (Quirk) Spain; three sons, John R. Spain of Sutton, Robert J. Spain Jr. of Millbury and Alan J. Spain of Paisley, Fl.; four sisters, Ellen Papaz and Elinor Salvidio both of Worcester, Carole Deim of Orange City, Fl. and Joan Gaucher of Shrewsbury; eight grandchildren, Michelle Spain, Jennifer Spain, Wendy Spain, Jaclyn Boucher, Caitlin Spain, Robyn Spain, Brittany Spain A.J. Spain; three great grandchildren, Joshua Boucher, Nicholas Spain and Brynna Boucher. He is predeceased by a brother William Spain and a sister Monica Carlson. He was born in Worcester, son of William and May (Howell) Spain.

Mr. Spain owned and operated R.J. Spain Trucking Company for 32 years and Sutton R.V. Sales and Service for 24 years, both until the present. He previously worked for A.J. Mattress Company for 25 years. He was a Korean veteran, serving in Germany.

He was a member of the Dudley-Gendron American Legion Post, the Moose of DeLand Florida, the Eagles in Orange City , Fl. He was Past President and now Vice President of the Singletary Rod and Gun Club in Oxford.

His funeral will be held Saturday, Nov. 29th from Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St., Millbury with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. BrigidTM)s Church, 59 Main St., Millbury Burial will be in West Sutton Cemetery. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 28th, in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the VNA Care Hospice, 120 Thomas St., Worcester, Ma. 01608 or to the Millbury Lions Club, P.O. Box 385, Millbury, Ma. 01527 .
