Carla Spigarelli

August 14, 2014

On behalf of the whole "Spigarelli tribe" here in Italy (that means my sisters Marta and Paola, their sons and me; my husband Guido, my sons Francesco Saverio and Pier Paolo; aunt Liliana, cousins Tiziana, Disma, her husband Giuliano and her son Gianluca) I send you all our warmest hug.

Thank You from the bottom of our hearts Gino, PJ, Rowena, Fulvia since we had the chance to know Robert and you few years ago and to "sew up" our big tribe divided by an Ocean.
Sorrow is the thing which connects us again in this sad occasion, despite the distance.

What I will personally remember of Bob is his smiling face were I did recognise, with some emotion and love, the eyes and some other little details belonging to my father Sergio and my grandpa Angelo. I will also remember his love for painting en plein air which took him and Chistine here in Italy.

August 13, 2014

His picture is wonderful and shows absolute joy Bob had for life. Bob and I first met in Trinidad in 1976. Lots of hard work but just as much fun working with him. Bob loved fun. He was always pulling a prank or a joke. Getting people going was a specialty. His laugh and chuckle were wonderful. One work trip into Canada on a particularly difficult job Bob looked at his watched, pretended to flip it open and spoke into it saying "Beam me up Scotty I gotta get outta here!" We near fell over laughing. That same trip on the way home we skiied in Banff at Lake Louise. The bottom half of the mountain was perfect. But not for Bob. He got us to the top where the international mens downhill started the week before. We had a heck of a time getting down. But no that was not enough. He had to go off trail and ski powder. He disappeared wiping out in about six feet of powder. I had to ski up alongside so he could pull himself out using my skis. How I had hoped that when I retire soon I would have a chance to share some fishing with him. Wonderful man who was always talking proudly of his family. He will be missed my many myself included. Rest in peace buddy. I'll miss you. Daryll Turner

Gino, PJ, A&B, Joe and Chris: you know how Bob loved a "reunion" and was a magnet for folks to gather around. Now he is having a beautiful reunion with his Mom & Dad, Laura and Jean and all the rest of his beloved family and friends who were waiting for him. We will miss him but are comforted because we know he is resting in the palm of the hand of our dear Lord. We are praying for all of you. Teresa & Dan Crawford

John and I have known Bob for 40 years. He introduced us and was the best man at our wedding. He has been in so many places and times in my life and John's since before we met and after. So many times that I keep remembering, in Bristol PA, and this area. His enthusiasm over discussing physics was always interesting. He had so much enthusiasm for so many things. We will miss the good conversations, going out to dinner, playing Trivial Pursuit and Scattagories with an intensity only Bob could muster and everything about our old friend. And Chris, we so extend our sympathies. You two are soul mates. Someday we will all see each other again, I do believe.

You always looked at the lighter side of life even in difficult times and we had our share of those. You had the best outlook on situations, which was laugh at them. Will miss you and your trips out here to CA. Still remember meeting you for the first time in 1977 and all the other times we worked together. God Bless You, Bob.
