Robert Stripling

I know he's been gone for a long time but, I wanted to say that he was my pediatrician my entire life and I loved Dr. Stripling. Tonight someone was whistling like a bird and that's why I thought of him. He always whistled like a little bird in my ear when he did my exams. He was a really nice doctor. I hope someone sees that, even after 8.5 years, someone still has his kind memories float through their head. One day we will see him again. Isaiah 5:28, 29 says there will be a resurrection of the righteous. I will be there to say "Welcome".

Dr Stripling was my doctor from the time I was born until I was 21! I was truly saddened to hear of his passing. He meant a lot to me and my family and most likely saved my life when I was a little kid and he caught my spinal meningitis. There was no one who knew his patients like he did! He is definitley missed.

My son would call Dr. Stripling the bird Doctor.Because as he wanted to check his ears he would say you hear the bird and he would make a bird sound. As we found out today he is no longer with us ,we are sadden that a good doctor has left this world. And that hopefully some new Doctors will follow his footsteps to succes. I remember my daughter that was months then that is 20 yrs of age now was very sick he wasnt on call so i called him at home and he told me bring her to my house and we did he saw her and made her feel much better within no time.

My heart goes out to his family that we will all miss him for being the great doctor he was for taking care of me after my open heart surgery and my brother that truly cared about his patients, even to the point of making house calls if necessary which is a rare thing nowdays.

My older children are now 24 & 25 and he was also my youngest child's pediatrician for a short time. He was such a great, kind loving doctor and provided the best care for them. He always did it with a smile and personal committment. You will be missed Dr. Stripling.

My deepest sympathy goes to the family of Dr. Stripling. He took care of me as a child and I chose him to care for my daughter. I was 6 hours from home when my then 14 month old became very ill in the middle of the night. I called the office to get a call back and at 2:30 in the morning, Dr. Stripling was on the other end of the phone! When we made it back home Dr. Stripling and Dr. Steven Stripling took care of her. I always felt so special but reading this, that is what he did to everyone! What a special person. He will truly be missed.

The great Dr. Stripling has now been healed by THE DOCTOR, God. What an amazing life and an awesome example to follow. A life lived to serve others. His knowledge was not surpassed by one! He was unbelievably kind to me and my son. My son would fake being sick just to go to the docotr. Dr. Stripling made the experience so easy that even my 4 year old could sense his peace.
You will be missed!

Our most sincere sympathy to the family of Dr. Stripling. He has been our children's pediatrician since we moved to Lubbock in 2004. At our first "well check-up" visit he gave us the advice to "watch the children around the hot stove and to have them learn the violin". He was so kind to our daughter when she was hospitalized in 2006. We will truly miss him.

I'm so sad to hear of the passing of Dr. Stripling! He was my boy's (they are in their mid 30's now) pediatrician and was a friend, but hadn't seen him in several years. Dr. Robert Moore was my pediatrician and when Dr. Stripling joined his office that's how we all became acquainted. My thoughts and prayers are with the family, as I know he will be dearly missed. He was a great man and he helped to save one of my son's life. Forever, he will be in our memories! God Bless his wife, children and grandchildren always!!!

He was an incredible open and giving human being. He helped keep all three of my children happy and healthy. My son will never forget the sweet bird sounds he would make. It was what kept them calm. Dr. Bob was one of my dearest friends as well as my former pediatrician. When I was born 32 years ago with spina bifida, he encouraged my parents and inspired them when other doctors were negative and grim. He welcomed us in the middle of the night at his house when I needed to be seen and he always did the birdie sound when he looked in my ears. I loved him and I thank God that I got to share the journey of life with such a great man. Rest in peace, Dr. Bob!

Dr Steve - I was very saddened when I heard of your father's illness. When I was notified of his passing, I could only pray for you and your family. All the years I worked with your father, he always kept such a calm demeanor and soft voice. I'm sure his patient's appreciated that. Dr. Stripling was doctor to our 5 children. I always appreciated his encouragement and his sweet, gentle spirit. He always had wise advice to give parents. Dr. Stripling was there with us when our baby daughter, Katie, passed away. He helped us process her death and then was also there at the birth and very happy occasion of our next baby daughter that was born after our loss. He will be missed in our family and in the Lubbock community.

My heart goes out to you. This side of Heaven has lost a great man. But, I can just picture Dr. Stripling as one of the great cloud of witnesses that is surrounding us as we run the race marked out for us with perverance and with our eyes fixed on Jesus. (Hebrews 12:1-2). Dr. Stripling was full of faith and full of God's love. It emanated from him. Every encounter I had with him was a blessing. I remember when I was four years old and had swallowed a dime. I recall Dr. Stripling pointing at the x-ray and showing me where the dime was. I was sick a lot as a child, but I never minded (probably because I often got to see Dr. Stripling whenever I was sick). It was a even bigger joy to see him check on my son after he was born.
