STROUP ROBERT C. "BOB"
Age 85, of Middlesex Township, formerly of Avalon, on Friday, March 13, 2009. Born November 4, 1923 in Pittsburgh, PA son of the late Harry & Essie (Thomas) Stroup. Beloved husband for 40 years of the late Katherine P. Stroup. In addition to his parents & wife, he was preceded in death by his two brothers, Wallace & Harry "Bud" Stroup. Loving father of Robin (Richard) Geier of Cranberry Township, Kenneth (Lisa) Stroup of Cranberry Township & Karen (Edward) Thein of Middlesex Township. Loving grandfather of Kelly (John) Odenweller of Columbus, OH, Jessica Geier of Cranberry Township, Karie Thein of Middlesex Township & Justin Geier of Cranberry Township. Step-grandfather of Derek Vogel of Adams Township. In addition, he is also survived by loving nieces & nephews & lastly, his loving cats & dog. Bob's family kindly invites friends to celebrate his life with them on Monday from 2-4 & 6-9 p.m. at the SCHELLHAAS FUNERAL HOME, LTD., 5864 Heckert Road, Bakerstown, Richland Township, 724-443-1505, where funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 17, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Vernon Borchert officiating. Interment will follow in Highwood Cemetery, Pittsburgh. Bob proudly served his country during World War II in the U.S. Army. He then went on to become an electrician & for 58 years, he was an active member of the IBEW Local #5 & an active member of the Retiree's Club. He loved doing cross-word puzzles, but most of all, he was a man who loved his family dearly. If desired, memorial contributions may be made in his honor to the Butler County Humane Society, 1015 Evans City Road, Renfrew, PA 16053.
