Merci Robert.

Just one of the best most caring Doctors I have ever met. I am going to miss him and his very enjoyable chats. His passion for patient care was matched only by his love of Jazz music. The world is a sadder place without his presence. Happy trails Uptown Bob.

It is si sad! Dr. Sunenblick was our family doctor for more than 30 years and he was also such a good friend.
We used to have such great discussions. We came back from a long vacation of 4 months in Europe and we just learned of his passing. He was such a nice person and a caring doctor!
Let his memory be eternal!

He was a vey caring doctor. The last time I saw him I had no appointment and his waiting room was full! He told
me to sit and wait! Then in a few minutes he called to see me!

I was one of his clients over the years and he became known in an affectionate way as Dr Jazz. As a Doctor he was always caring of his patients with a bed-side manner that was exemplary, taking the time to understand the whole person.
He will be missed.

I'm heart broken....I can't believe this! I've been incognito the last three months. I saw Doctor Sunenblick in January all seemed fine with Dr. Sunenblick. I phoned today for an appointment to see Dr. Sunenblick...the line is cut off, online it says "permanently closed" and just now I googled and discovered that Dr. Sunenblick has passed. I am sooooo heart broken! I've been a patient with this wonderful doctor for the past 30 years. He will be missed so much! My deepest sympathy to his family, friends and all his patients!
RIP :-(

Robert was one of the great jazz detectives, discovering previously unknown recordings by some of the greatest musicians of the 20th century. He was passionate about the music, backed by an encyclopedic memory. The ability to balance his work in medicine and record producing suggests an exceptional talent. In some ways we were all his patients, healing through his efforts.

Bob contacted me about writing liner notes for some of his Uptown releases. He liked his annotators to go deep on the subject matter, and that's a great blessing for writers. Each job was a great opportunity to immerse in the life and work of a set of great musicians: Frank Rosolino and Carl Fontana, Howard McGhee, Jeri Southern, Dizzy Gillespie and Dodo Marmarosa.
Thanks for all of it, Bob.

Doctor Robert Sunenblick was a special man. A caring man. He looked after our family. He was very caring to both of my parents. He was a friend to me and my family. I will always fondly remember him as a man of character with strong views who possessed a very good medical intellect. He was also a protector of the underdog as well as a profound lover of jazz music. I will missing waiting to see him and listening to jazz playing in the background. I also will miss the lively political discussions we used to have. Finally and sadly I will miss his caring and compassion. He will be sorely missed. I send our family sympathies to his family at this time of their great loss.

I was a patient of Dr. Sunenblick. We disagreed about politics ,but there was a human side to this man that I will always be grateful for. I loved it when we talked about music. The Christmas CD that he produced and gave me has made my family celebrate each Christmas in a special way. I felt that he was as creative as the musicians that he enjoyed and just as fragile in a very human & gifted way. He was sometimes tough to talk to, but there are not many people that I have met that could be as loyal. I think I'll play some Ruby Braff & Ellis Larkens now and simply say " I'll miss you Dr. Sunenblick " & hope Ellis Larkins is playing the song : "Perfume and Rain" for him . He kept me well & helped me when I really needed it.
