Robert P. Sylvester, 90, of Syracuse, peacefully passed away on Tuesday. He proudly served in the Army from 1950-1953. Robert was employed by Brinks where he worked as an armored truck driver. He was an avid outdoors man that enjoyed hunting, fishing, dining out and being with family. Robert was predeceased by his siblings, Fred Sylvester, Jack Sylvester, Delores Checkosky and Mary Harper. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Joanna (Minale) Sylvester; his two daughters, Shari (Alan) Wallenbeck, Linda (Thomas Jr.) Kalbus; his sister-in-law, Barbara Sylvester; his 4 grandchildren, Zachary Wallenbeck, Kali Wallenbeck, Jacob Kalbus, Jeremy Kalbus and several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be Monday 5pm to 7pm at the Carter Funeral Home, 1604 Grant Blvd, Syracuse. Followed by a funeral service with military honors at 7pm. Robert will be laid to rest in the Onondaga County Veteran Cemetery, Syracuse, N.Y.
