ROBERT AUSTIN TAYLOR November 2, 1990 - January 26, 2023 Robert Austin Taylor passed away unexpectedly on January 26, 2023. At the time of his death, he was doing what he loved most, playing with his daughters at home. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, February 4, 2023 at the Stephenville High School Bond Auditorium. He will be laid to rest at the Gardens of Memory in Stephenville. Visitation with the Taylor family will be 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday at Stephenville Funeral Home. Austin was born on November 2, 1990 to Sam and Delaina Taylor. On March 11, 2017 Austin married his high school sweetheart and love of his life, Madison Delaney Goodwin. Together they had two beautiful daughters, Nora Jane (4) and Della Rae (2). While in high school, Austin participated in basketball, football, golf, and track. As just a freshman in high school, Austin was the district champion in both the 1 and 2 mile events and advanced to the regional track meet in each event. He also qualified for regionals in cross country. Following high school, Austin obtained his Bachelor of Science Degree in Political Science from the University of Houston. He then attended South Texas College of Law in Houston where he graduated with a Doctor of Jurisprudence degree. While in law school, Austin worked part-time at the Lanier Law Firm in Houston where, upon graduation from law school, he was hired as a full-time attorney. Austin became a Senior Attorney at the firm in November, 2022. In 2020 Austin received recognition by The National Trial Lawyers Association for "Top 40 under 40." Austin devoted 100 percent of his law practice to representing clients stricken with cancer caused by asbestos exposure. Austin was a very good lawyer who cared deeply for his clients and their devastated families. The law firm often received feedback from clients expressing their gratitude for the personal compassion Austin showed them during their difficult times. Austin had a countless number of friends. Since Austin's passing, the recurring theme expressed from those friends has been that "Austin was the best and most loyal friend I've ever had." In high school, "Austin's house" was always the go-to place. That reality continued even into his adulthood. When Austin came home from Houston on the weekends, it was amazing how fast word traveled that he would be there. Frequently, numerous friends would already be waiting at Sam and Delaina's house when Austin and Madison arrived. Austin loved to play golf, cook, hunt, play dominos with family, and he was fanatical about college athletics. From a very young age, Austin developed a love and passion for Texas Longhorns athletics. He was literally the ultimate Longhorn fan from childhood until his last day. Two of Austin's absolute favorite past times were playing dominos with his family and grilling for family get-togethers. And he was exceedingly good at both! He was known as the family organizer for cookouts, dominos, and hunting trips. He especially loved hosting a big crawfish boil with friends and family every year. More than anything, Austin was always a consummate family man. He loved and cared about his entire family more than anything in the world. At the absolute center of his universe was his three girls, Madison, Nora Jane, and Della Rae. He and Madison were true soul mates and the perfect match for each other. When Nora Jane and Della Rae came along, Austin was the epitome of a doting, hands-on dad. Was he ever crazy about his babies! Whether it was morning breakfasts, evening meals, nighttime baths, playing in the park, reading books, or just cuddling on the couch, Austin and Madison always took care of their girls together. Austin is survived by his wife, Madison, and their daughters, Nora Jane and Della Rae; his parents Sam and Delaina Taylor; his sister Mikah and her husband Justin Haschke; his brother Trey and his wife Shelby; his grandparents Bob and Deanna Glasgow; his grandmother Joy Taylor; Madison's parents Dell and Rebecca Goodwin; Madison's sister Andrea and her partner Blake Schwartzkopf; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, and nieces. Austin was preceded in death by his grandfather Sam "Pa" Taylor and his lifelong buddy Clive, who will be laid to rest with Austin.
