Robert Thomas Obituary
Robert Lee Thomas Sr., 65, of Odessa passed away Saturday, January 17, 2015 at Shannon Medical Center in San Angelo. He was born July 26, 1949 in Odessa to Robert & Melva Thomas. He graduated from Ector High School in 1967. He attended Odessa College and received his welding certificate. He married Bonnie Deanna Sawyer September 22, 1972 in Odessa. He was employed at Southdown Corp. as a maintenance lead man and mill wright.
He is preceded in death by his parents, grandfather, Strozier Oatman Yates & brother, James Thomas. He is survived by his wife, Bonnie D. Thomas of Robert Lee,TX; sons, Robert Lee Thomas Jr. of Odessa, Derek Dwain Thomas & Jeremy Reagan Thomas both of Robert Lee; sisters, Becky Janosik & husband Joe of Odessa, Melva Sawyer & husband Kerry of Odessa, Rissa Davilla of Odessa, Melanie Regnier, of Odessa; sister-in-law, Renee Janosik of Odessa; brother-in-law, Kevin Sawyer of Odessa;, (6) grandchildren; several nieces & nephews and many friends.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Jimmy Braswell officiating.
