Rev. Thompson was a special mentor when he was chair of the Grace Prebyterian Village Board. He provided insight regarding the Prebytery as well as how to build relationships with the churches. I felt priveleged to have served at the time he chaired the Board.

I have thought of him often after leaving the Village.

Bill and I are forever grateful to have known Bob Thompson; that doesn't exclude, Betty Jo, of course. We have just returned from his memorial service in Elliott Hall at HPPC, and were overwhelmed by it; it was truly a service filled with love. Just think of the number of people whose life he has touched, and changed. We will miss him.

Betty Jo and Family,
It is with true love and affection that I remember Bob and I will never forget the Maundy Thursday Service at Emmanuel where Bob helped me see the way and come to accept Jesus Christ in my life. I will never forget the Last Supper as he presented it and what it meant to me. When we saw him at Grannybelle's funeral, it was like a breath of fresh air the short time I was able to talk to him. Again, His words meant so much to not only myself, but to Carol, Jane, and Bill(George now). May Gods love be with all of you at this time. My love and thoughts are with you.

I am saddened to hear of Rev. Thompson's passing. He had a huge impact on my life when I attended church in Sherman, and he married my husband and me. May God comfort you in this time of sorrow.

Dear Betty Jo and family - Bob was such a special person and a wonderful minister. I'll never forget his faithful, loving visits to my grandmother in the hospital. I know Bob will be warmly remembered by everyone whose life he touched for his deep compassion and selfless giving. He was a truly dedicated Christian man who brought comfort to so many people. It's a joy that he was able to publish his book which continues to be a great source of comfort to those who read it. May God surround you all with his love and bring you peace. God bless you always.

Dear Betty Jo and family, I remember Bob as always being there when Mom and Dad lived in Mesquite and I was a young wife who would come visit from New Mexico. He kept us all in God's hands thru times of joy and sadness. I always think of him with loving thoughts. Carol Lee Bartlett (Daughter of Ken and Mary Lee from Emmanuel in Mesquite)
