As one of the Black Jack boys, attending Stanford Wong's Las Vegas parties once a year, I always treasured my time with Robert, or Bootlegger,as his handle was known to us. He was a wonderful guitarist and singer, and he would regale us with songs at the Sunday night gathering, which was the last event before we departed for each years party.
One year I joined Robert in a duet of Jackson, with Robert singing the Johnny Cash part and I, Barfarkel (Mark) singing the June Carter part. What a hoot that was, and what a great memory of the time that Robert and I got to sing together.
He was a wonderful and thoughtful guy. I miss him a lot.

Dianna , I have not seen or emailed Bob or you in over 10 years but I'm still saddened by this great loss. Bob was such a big man, not in size (although he towered over me) but in personality. I am very sorry for your loss.

I knew Mike from the blackjack community and the blackjack book that he wrote is the most clearly written and easy to understand of any that I know. I loved the music that he shared with us at the parties in Vegas, and I think of him whenever I hear "The Gambler". He was a sincere person, a good listener and very concerned about the well-being of others. He had a gift to explain difficult/complex things to average people. He always had something nice to say. My deepest condolensces to Dianna and all other family of this great man.

My deepest condolences, Dianna. Bob was the best kind of man one could ever know, and I recall with fondness all the times we shared a meal, a blackjack table and especially the time we sang a duet of Jackson at a Green Chip party, with Bob singing the Johnny Cash part while I sang the June Carter Cash part. I hope you've read all the tributes to Bob on the General Green Chip page of BJ21. He'll be sorely missed.

My deepest, heartfelt sympathy at your loss. Bob was the most thoroughly decent fellow in our association of advantage casino players. He was always quick with friendly, accommodating answers, comments, recommendations and even political opinions. I just wish I could have met him in person or listened to his live music. This is a terrible loss to all who knew and loved him.

Dianna, words cannot express my deep sorrow at this time. Bob was one of a kind, the type of person I would have loved to have had for a next-door neighbor.
I honestly don't think I have met a nicer, kinder person than Bob was in many years. And I am very proud to be able to call him (and you) a dear friend - it was an honor to know him on a personal level. When you came to visit us a few years ago, my late father remarked to me how easy it was to talk to Bob about anything, and I told him that's the way Bob is......a very outgoing person with a huge heart.
I will be keeping you and your family in my thoughts and prayers, and I will keep Bob's wonderful memory in my heart always.
Your friend,
Gary

I am sorry for the loss of my friend, and offer my heartfelt condolensces to his family. I have known a lot of people in my life, and Bob was one of the nicest that I have ever met. I will miss you my friend. To paraphrase the Righteous Brothers, "If there's a Rock and Roll Heaven, they just got another damn fine player up there in the band"

We met in Reno about 15 years ago. I subsequently met with Bob at some of the Green Chip parties and he came to Chicago for one of my dinners.
Such a fine man. Friendliness, integrity and just good common sense.
My deepest sympathy to you and your children. Your husband will be sorely missed.
