Robert Warren

Robert Quincy Warren of Centerville, formerly of Melrose, passed away on July 21, 2008, at the age of 92. He is survived by his wife, Hazel Marie (Brewer). He was the father of John Warren and his wife, Wendy, two grandchildren, Leigh and Matt Warren, all of Stoneham, and father of Paul Warren and his partner, Chris Chi, of New York City.

During World War II, he enlisted in the Air Force and served in the Pacific Area. He was a member of the American Legion, Disabled Veterans, and Veterans of Foreign Wars. Mr. Warren was employed by Liberty Mutual Insurance Company for 47 years before retiring to Centerville.

He enjoyed running and volunteering. In New Hampshire, he served as district commissioner for the Daniel Webster Council of Boy Scouts and earned the Wood Badge award.

He was a Barnstable Town Meeting member, a member of the original building committee for the Barnstable Senior Center, a member of the Osterville Men's Club, and a member of the South Congregational Church. He was also a member of the Centerville Historical Society and the Centerville Library.

A funeral service will be held in South Congregational Church, Main Street, Centerville, on Thursday, July 24, at noon. Visiting hours will be held in the John-Lawrence Funeral Home, 3778 Falmouth Road (Route 28), Marstons Mills, on Wednesday from 4 to 6 p.m. Burial will be at 1:30 p.m. in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
