Robert Miller Waters, 96, of Georgetown, died Monday, Oct. 19, 2015 at the Ohio Veteran Home in Georgetown. He was retired from the State of Ohio Bureau of Employment Services, a United States WWII Navy veteran, a member of the Georgetown Presbyterian Church, the Carey Bavis American Legion Post 180 in Georgetown, and the Georgetown Masonic Lodge F&AM 72, a former clerk for the Georgetown Exempted Village School District for 19 years and the last living original charter member of the FOE 2293 in Georgetown. Robert was born June 18, 1919 in Felicity, the only child of the late Willard S. and Grace (Miller) Waters. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife - Virginia (Cochran) Waters in 2002.
Mr. Waters is survived by three children – Joan Ann Baird of San Marcos, Calif., Cheryl Lynn Turner and husband Bruce of Cincinnati, and Bob Waters and wife Gail of Georgetown; six grandchildren – Sean Baird and wife Margie of Escondido, Calif., Stacey Ellis and husband David of Indianapolis, Ind., Sarah Pitman and husband Ben of Oklahoma City, Okla., J.D. Turner and wife Katie of Cincinnati, Rob Waters and wife Valerie of Cincinnati, and Lisa Beth Cooper and husband Brian of Fort Mill, S.C. and 14 great grandchildren – Ryan and Corey Baird, Megan Ellis, Mollie, Sam and John Pitman, Anna, Luke and Jake Turner, Madelyn, Grant and Trace Waters and Leighton and Easton Cooper.
Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family Monday, Oct. 26. There will be no visitation. Interment will be in the Confidence Cemetery in Georgetown, with veteran services by the Carey Bavis American Legion Post 180 of Georgetown. The Cahall Funeral Home in Georgetown, serving the family.
If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Ohio Veterans Home, 2003 Veterans Blvd, Georgetown, Ohio 45121 or to the Tri State Honor Flight, 8627 Calumet Way, Cincinnati, Ohio 45249.
