Besides helping me survive heart surgery and a post operative stroke, Dr. Wey helped me financially by not making me pay right away. I don't know if I ever paid him fully but hopefully when his family sees some sports memorabilia of Von Miller they will know that since I wasn't sure if I paid for everything, I gave that memorabilia to Dr. Wey because of the care he gave me and the kindness he showed me. My landlord at my store was Von Miller's grandfather and he gave me those items. I didn't have much but Dr. Wey seemed pleased, or almost excited when I gave the items to him. I just wish I could have done more for my favorite joke exchanging friend and doctor. I will never forget him and I will always be thankful that he was part of my life.

Bobby was a great classmate at St. Thomas HS. Unfortunately I have lost touch with him over the years, but would often think of him when going over near his neighborhood and I did that over several years everyday when I worked at Shell's BTC on Bellaire Blvd. Rest in Peace, Bobby.

I was coming to Methodist ICU @ ~03:45 am, bedraggled for an emergency G.I. Bleed. No make-up, hair a-mess, thrown on scrubbs...Rushing into the Hospital as fast as my legs could carry me.
Hoping not to run into anyone other than the ICU Team, the Endoscopy Team, and a patient in need I ran 'smackdab' into a calm, collected Dr. Robert Wey...EXITING the hospital.
"Getting a late start arn't you Dr. Snodgrass" was all Dr. Wey said as he and his P.A briskly walked past...
They rarely make Physicians like that any more...what an honor to have known, much less been in his presence.
Condolences to his Family. They should now and always take such great pride. I shall never forget...

Dr. Wey is one of the most brilliant physicians I have had the pleasure of knowing and work with for the past 17 years. I am deeply saddened for his family, colleges, patients, and friends. I have always had the pleasure of sharing with his patients and families the love he has for his practice and have referred to him as "the Einstein of Cardiology in Lubbock Texas" to many. Dr Wey has touched many hearts and has saved those who were not expected to live on. As I have watched him never give up and search for the answers to heal, I always felt his love and compassion for his patients and his work daily. I thank Dr Wey for the knowledge he has shared with me and other nurses and I will carry this with me throughout my practice of nursing. Dr Wey, you left this world a inspiration, a hero and a legend in Lubbock and the surrounding areas. You fullfilled your mission my friend. Now you can rest. RIP...you will be missed dearly.

Dr Wey is the most brilliant physicianI have had the pleasure of knowing and working with. I am deeply saddened for his family, colleges, patients, and friends. I find it comforting to brag on him all the time to his patients at the hospital as I have referred to him as the " absolute Genius of cardiology" . His 4:30 rounds at the hospital each day is something he did with ease and will never be forgotten by the many sleepy eyed patients he woke. He touched hearts and saved many patients that were not expected to live on. He was determined to figure it out and fix what many could not fix. I thank him for the knowledge he has shared with me that will always be used in my scope of practice as a Registered nurse. Dr Wey you are a legend and hero in Lubbock as well as miles and miles of the surrounding areas. You definitely will be missed tremendously and will always have that special place in my heart. RIP my friend.....We shall meet agin

This news makes my heart terribly sad.
Dr. Wey cared for both of my grandparents, Royce & Neysa Beights, for just about as long as I can remember. When I would spend the night at the hospital with either of them, his early morning rounds (early as in before 5:00 AM) would serve as an alarm clock. I will never forget him drawing a heart on the white board in Memaw's room in order to give me the best explanation of his diagnosis and what exactly her heart was experiencing.
Dr. Wey was a top notch cardiologist who provided the best care for his patients.
He will be missed.

James and I are so saddened to learn of Bob's passing. Our children attended school together. Kurt, RIP, and our daughter, Melissa, RIP, were always best friends, and both left us too soon. He is now with Kurt, and that gives us a smile, even in our tears. We remember the many times he would be with his beautiful family at Sunday Mass and his "beeper" would sound. He would be gone, but, his family remained, just as now, they will meet again. Sherry and James Grusendorf

Dr Wey often said that he and I have known each other since "BK" (Before Kids). It was my privelege to work with him since the mid 70's. He was a sterling representative of leading edge healthcare with phenomenal business acumen. He would give credit where it was due, and recognized and encouraged talent. I was privileged to be able to learn at his side. I teased him that he was a "poop magnet" because he would not step away from the most difficult and challenging clinical situations. He gave 110% to his patients and he expected no less from his team. In my opinion, he put Lubbock on the map for cardiovascular excellence. You will be sorely missed Dr Robert (Bob) Wey! Your legacy shall live on!

I am deeply saddened to hear of Dr. Wey's passing. I had the privilege of working with him at Lubbock Heart Hospital. I not only knew him as a coworker but I knew him as a family member when he saved my mom's life. I remember one time when he was a patient and he would make rounds in his hospital gown and IV pole. I loved how dedicated he was to his patients. He was truly an amazing doctor and our medical community will not be the same without his smile and witty jokes. I lift his family up in prayers during their time of grief and heartache. Fly high Dr. Wey!!

What a blessing it was to know such an amazing man. A man that saved my life on more than one occasion, would not leave me when my condition was not stable, and filled me with hope of a better tomorrow. A man that cared so much about all of his patients, was up well before anyone else making rounds, and always stayed true to the old school way of being loyal to his patients. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family. May God bless you and keep you in his comforting arms.

I worked with Dr Wey in his clinic and on the unit. I loved going with him to the cath lab. He would review his films with me over his shoulder asking a million questions and he was so patient as he taught me and answered my questions.
I will always associate Dr Wey with his big smile, his compassion for others, his wonderful sense of humor and the beautiful music he would listen to in his office! How blessed to have known him. My thoughts and prayers are are with his beloved wife, children, and other family members.

When my Mother & I learned of Dr. Wey's illness we were so worried about him, but we knew with his love of life, his patients & his work, he'd be back and when we were told he wouldn't be coming back our hearts were crushed, for him & for us as well! He'd been my Daddy, Conal Norried's, Doctor for over 30yrs, then my Mother's & mine! We trusted him 100%! When he walked into the room he always had a big smile & a warm hug! Dr. Wey always has been, and always will be, the consummate professional, dedicated to the health and well-being of his patients. Although many would describe him as "challenging" or "difficult" to work with, these are descriptors spoken out of respect as they reflect the dedication and passion that Dr. Wey exhibited as a doctor, and as a man.
