Robert Wied Obituary
Robert "Bob" J. Wied, age 76, passed away March 27, 2016. He was born September 16, 1939 in Green Bay, to Justin and Irene (Ritchie) Wied. Bob graduated from Premontre High School in 1957. On June, 28,1996, he married Donna Mahaffey. Bob served his country in the Wisconsin National Guard. He had been the owner of Allied Gear and Machine Company in Ashwaubenon for over 30 years.
Bob's family and friends were a very important part of his life. He cherished family gatherings and "breakfast with the boys". He loved a good game of cards, especially sheephead or cribbage. He also enjoyed fishing fly-ins in Canada and many hunting trips over the years including out west, Canada, Crivitz, Ringle/Hatley just to name a few. Bob loved to entertain, you never went hungry or thirsty when he was around. From his fish boils to "Bobs Booyah". Bob never met a friend he didn't buy a drink for. Bob spent many summer vacations in Eagle River and traveling to Las Vegas for slot tournaments and many shows. Bob lived his life to the fullest. He will be missed by all who loved him.
Bob is survived by his wife, Donna (Mahaffey) Wied; the mother of his children, Joyce (Berendsen) Wied; his children, Lisa (Steve) Wauters, Vicki (Mike) Whiting, Robb (Beth) Wied, Ryan Wied, Angela Wied (Fiancé, Dave Derderian) and Brittany Gravely; grandchildren, Jennifer Whiting, Aaron Whiting, Michael (Cara) Whiting, Kyle Wauters, Wesley Wauters, Evan Wied and Claudia Wied; great-grandchildren, Skyler, Shelby, Riley, Cayden, Camden and Corben; brothers, Tom Wied and Jerry (Chris) Wied; sisters, Rosemary Reineck, Judy Wied, Jackie (Mike) Kaster, Mary Jo Wied and Theresa Edlebeck;
He was preceded in death by his parents, Justin Wied and Irene (Ritchie) Wied; brothers, Steven Wied and Donald Wied.
Visitation will be held at Lyndahl Funeral Home, 1350 Lombardi Avenue, on Friday, April 1, 2016, from 3:00 pm until the funeral service at 6:30 pm, with Deacon Jim Gauthier officiating. Online condolences may be expressed at www.lyndhal.com. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Bob's name.
For those who knew him, his family would love for you to come prepared to share your stories or special memories about Bob.

Bobbie was a caring, wonderful ' larger than life' gentleman. The world is a better place because he was here and I am a better person for having had the chance to know him. He is loved and will be greatly missed. My thoughts and prayers to his wonderful family.

My deepest sympathy goes out to Lisa, Vicki, Robb, Ryan, Angela, Donna, and family. Bob was a lifelong family friend. I always looked forward to the times when Mr. Wied was coming over to our house for deer hunting or business trips. Bob was always fun and hospitable and my father spoke very highly of him. Many times while I was growing up I remember my father giving me the advice if as an adult, you have two or three best friends, like I have with Mr. Wied, you can consider yourself lucky. A number of years ago, not too long after my father passed away, I was looking for a particular painting, one that my parent's had as I grew up. I wanted that same painting in my own home. I could not find the painting for purchase anywhere. I knew Bob had one of those paintings and I asked him for assistance in finding one. He immediately understood the sentimental reason behind my request. In less than a week the painting was delivered to my house. When I asked Bob how much I owed him he told me nothing, it must have fell off the back of truck and I just happened to find it. This is an example of my experiences with him and how easily he showed generosity. I am thankful that such a great person was a friend of our family. You are greatly missed Mr Wied.
