Robert Wood

Robert (Bob) Wood, age 87, formerly of Carthage, Mo., passed away on Nov. 9, 2009, in Sun City West, Ariz. Mr. Wood was born in Joplin, Mo., on Jan. 18, 1922, to Ethel and Earl Wood. He graduated from Carthage High School and served in the Army Air Force during World War II from 1942 to 1945. In Carthage, Bob was the broker and owner of Wood Realty and was active in the Rotary Club and Rotary drama productions. He continued his real estate career, residing in Downey, Calif., from 1970 to 1989, and retired to Sun City West in 1989. His body has been taken for cremation with a memorial service planned at a later date. He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Ethel Wood; and one sister, JoAnn Davidson, of Carthage. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Pauline Wood; one daughter, Robin Keeney and husband, Ed, of Salem, Mo.; two sons, Eric Wood and wife, Terry, of Joplin, and Jeff Wood and wife, Debbie, of Anaheim, Calif.; two sisters, Margaret White, of Joplin, and June Reddick, of Springfield, Mo.; two brothers, Sonny Wood, of Wildomar, Calif., and Buddy Wood, of Lincoln, Neb.; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be made to the American Kidney Fund.
