Robert Woodward Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jun. 24, 2025.
Orlando - Robert "Bob" Woodward, age 87, went to be with his Lord on June 20, 2025. He was born on October 18, 1937 in Bradenton, Florida before moving to Tallahassee, Florida. After graduation from college, he returned to Tallahassee where he met his wife of 62 years, Betsy. Bob is survived by his wife, Betsy, his daughter, Cheryl, and his granddaughter, Samantha. His love for his family was evidenced by the selfless sharing of himself, especially his art talents and love of cars. He loved to fish, hunt, garden and watch birds with Betsy. He embodied a love for nature and animals, especially the many pets owned and loved by the family.

Bob and Betsy faithfully attended and served at both First Baptist Church and Immanuel Baptist Church in Tallahassee. Bob graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in architecture. He worked in the private sector in Tallahassee before his employment with the State of Florida where he designed many buildings which stand today as a tribute to his vision and design. He served his country for six years in the Army Reserves as an Intelligence Sergeant. After retirement, Bob and Betsy moved to Mt. Dora, Florida to be close to family and played an active role in the lives of Cheryl and Samantha. He served as the videographer for Samantha's dance and sports programs and also provided his media services to First Baptist Church of Mt. Dora with Betsy. He was a servant to others in all that he did.

Knowing that he is in heaven provides comfort to his family and friends who love him and will miss him. A memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church of Tallahassee at 2:00 PM on Thursday, June 26, 2025. A graveside service will be held on Friday morning at 10:30 AM at Evergreen Cemetery in Greenville, Florida. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Beggs Funeral Home in Madison, Florida.
