Robert M Wynne

Longwood, FL - Robert M. Wynne, aged 87, passed away on November 7, 2025, in Longwood, FL. Born on February 10, 1938, Robert dedicated much of his life to education and service, touching the lives of many through his work.

Robert taught in several school districts including Marlboro, Poughkeepsie, and Arlington. Most of his career he taught driver education. He was passionate about improving the driving skills of his students, taking pride in their progress and safety. Beyond the classroom, Robert owned Wynne's Driving School and taught private lessons as well as a program at Our Lady of Lourdes. Following his retirement from teaching driver's education, he really enjoyed working part-time at Hertz Car Rental jockeying rental cars around from location to location.

He was a graduate of Norwich University, where he formed lasting friendships and connections that he cherished throughout his life.

Robert was a devout Roman Catholic, actively participating in congregations at St. Stephen in Winter Springs, FL, and St. Peter's in Hyde Park.

An avid outdoorsman, Robert relished in fishing, bowling, and boating. His retirement years in Florida were joyfully spent devising clever ways to keep the squirrels off his bird feeders even though he would throw the squirrels peanuts, a testament to his playful ingenuity. Robert loved to play the organ and there also wasn't anything he couldn't fix with duct tape.

On November 20, 1965 Robert married the love of his life, MaryEllen (Waters) Wynne, who survives in FL. Additional surviving family members include; sons Robert Wynne Jr. and his wife, Melissa, John Wynne and his girlfriend, Lenlen Sanico; grandchildren Victoria, Ryan, and Sierra Wynne; cousin Marta Cwik and her boyfriend Frank Lewandowski; LouAnn Wynne; "son" Nick LaMonica and wife Pamela LaMonica; many cousins. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Vincent and Josephine (Bartoczewicz) Wynne.

A Roman Catholic graveside ceremony will honor Robert's life on December 17, 2025, at 3 p.m. at St. Joseph's Cemetery, 42 Evergreen Ave., Poughkeepsie, N.Y. All are welcomed to attend.
