Mount Hope
Funeral for Robert Lane Young Sr., 64, of Mount Hope will be Thursday, September 15, 2011, at 3 p.m. at Parkway Funeral Home Chapel with Phil Kimbrough officiating. Burial will be in Ferguson Cemetery. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.
Mr. Young, who died Sunday, September 11, 2011, at Huntsville Hospital, was born March 5, 1947, in Birmingham to Hugh Lane Young and Marjorie Young. He was a Vietnam veteran receiving two Purple Hearts, the Bronze Star and numerous other medals. Retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company in Decatur, he was an avid Harley- Davidson biker and was the founder of the East B's Club in the Woodlawn area of Birmingham in the 1960s. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Sandy Dodd; and his father and mother-in-law, Melvin and Nancy Parker.
Survivors include his wife, Loretta Young; two sons, Bobby Young of Trinity and Jacob Young of Mount Hope; two daughters, Bonnie Young of Decatur and Emmy Young of Mount Hope; one sister, Dee O'Bannon (Michael) of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; and three grandchildren, Blane Young, Dee Young and Gia Young.
Pallbearers will be members of the Motorcycle Family Motorcycle Club (MFMC) and members of Bikers Against Child Abuse. (BACA)

Lane was one of the nicest, coolest men I've ever met... it was an honor for me to know him and for anyone else who knew him. My prayers are with you Bobby and Jaz and your family. If the Lord will allow it... hope that he and I can share a Diet Sun Drop again!
