When she came to Astoria enthusiastic about starting Hope House in our community. She traveled here dozens of times to get our agency off the ground and running smoothly. I also enjoyed our summer lunches in Seaside each year when she made her Oregon Coast journey. She also preached at First Lutheran Church in Astoria. Her memory is a blessing to all of us.

I am thankful for Roberta and for her care and advocacy for so many. May her memory be a blessing and may the promises through Jesus bring comfort.

In yoga, I found Roberta to be refreshing. She sat behind me and on a few occasions after class, she would share some interesting things about her life. On another occasion, Helen and I were taking a train ride to Portland. To my surprise I looked up and saw Roberta walking by. She was surprised when she heard her name called. We had a chance to share some space and time, before we had to say goodbye.

I meet Roberta in 1978-79 in Spokane where she worked for Lutheran Social Services and I was a volunteer. She soon became the Director and we maintained our friendship 4+ decades and that many moves! We had a Christmas tradition of a crab and lefse dinner and lunch as often as we could manage. I will miss her for my remaining years...she was a force of nature and the heart of all our activities. Rest my friend!

I met Roberta when we were assigned as roommates on a Road Scholar trip, to New Zealand 10 years ago. We were both from Seattle and our friendship flourished. Will miss her forever

I did not know Roberta; however, I work at Inland LCSNW (Spokane), and I am grateful for her work and the legacy she left of a trauma informed service agency!
