ROBERTO RODRIGUEZ EAST CHICAGO, IN Roberto Rodriguez, 86, lovingly known as "Don Roberto", born 8/10/22 in Jacona, Michoacan, died December 2, 2008 surrounded by his loving, doting family. He is survived by his present wife of 43 years, Carmen; eight children: Robert (Leticia), Marta (Jesus), Sergio (Aurora), Jaime, Patricia (Jerry), Raul (Martha), Jose (Patricia) and Victor (Selene); 22 grandchildren; 10 1/2 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by his first wife, Rebecca Melgoza Rodriguez. He retired after 30 years of service at Inland Steel. In his former "the Harbor/Alder Street neighborhood of 50 years, Pa was the one to call for many repairs. There was no "Angie's list" then, but everyone knew Don Roberto's number because he never charged for his services. Funeral services will be held Friday, December 5, 2008 at 9:15 a.m. from the Fife Funeral Home, 4201 Indianapolis Blvd., East Chicago to Our Lady of Guadalupe Church for a 10:00 a.m. Mass with Rev. Juan Gonzalez, C.PP.S., officiating. Cremation to follow. Visitation will be at Fife Funeral Home Thursday from 4:00-8:00 p.m. We all know Pa went straight to Heaven. Launch off taken, Pa. MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!! God Speed!
