Robinette Morrow Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on May 6, 2025.
Robinette Fern (Miller) Morrow, affectionately known as Robbie, passed away on May 3, 2025, at the age of 91. A lifelong adventurer in both spirit and geography, Robbie brought warmth, humor, and a sparkle to the lives of everyone who knew her.

Born on November 16, 1933, in Sioux City, Iowa, to William French Miller and Luella Fern (Naeve) Miller, Robbie graduated from Central High School in 1952 and went on to attend Wayne State Teacher's College. In July of 1955, she married the love of her life, Francis Morrow, and together they built a life full of laughter, love, and beautiful homes - 17 of them, in fact, all lovingly decorated by Robbie's creative touch.

Her professional journey was just as colorful - she wore many hats, from teacher to social worker, and left her mark in places like Hartington, Nebraska; Alta, Churdan, Wall Lake, and Conrad, Iowa. Later, she earned a degree in Social Work from Buena Vista College. In retirement, Robbie and Fran continued their adventure, spending several winters in Arizona, living in Prince's Lake, Indiana; Tekamah, Nebraska; West Des Moines and finally Des Moines, Iowa.

Robbie was always on the move, whether boating, golfing, gardening, playing a lively game of Bridge, attending PEO meetings, or many of the church roles she held in all towns. But what she loved most was sharing time with her four children and their families.

She is lovingly remembered by her husband of nearly 70 years, Francis; her children Martin (Karen) of Marion, Iowa, Karen (Edwin) Bennett of Parker, Colorado, and Gregory (Becky) of West Des Moines, Iowa; her siblings Robert, Harold, Donald, Doug, and Geneva; twelve grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a wide circle of nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Robbie now joins those who went before her: her parents; her brothers Jerry, Warren, Ronald, and Forrest; her sister Sally; and her son Stephen (Kathy).

A private family memorial will be held at a later date. Robbie's light lives on in every laugh, every story, and every beautifully set table shared in her memory.

Condolences can be sent to Fran Morrow, 3801 Grand Ave., Apt. 207, Des Moines, IA, 50312

Fran and family - I am saddened to see the passing of Robbie. She was always so much fun to be around at the family gatherings. I remember when she first met Lyle Roetman before we got married. She pulled him up out of his chair, turned him around, and laughed and said "he will do" Lyle thought a great deal of her. She will be missed by all of us.

So sorry to hear about Robbie´s passing. Her sparkling, smiling eyes; her contagious laugh; her constant upbeat mood; and the good-natured evaluation she made every potential fiancé of the Morrow cousins pass before marriage will live on in my memory always. We will miss you, Robbie!

I'm so sorry to here about the loss of Robbie. She was a joy to have around and loved entertaining my family. What a great cook! We are so glad we were able to spend time with her, especially while she and Fran lived in Tekamah.
