PALUMBO, Rocco Passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 5, 2011, with his loving family by his side at Malden Park Continuing Care after a valiant battle. Rocco was born on August 13, 1925, in Roccamorice Italy and emigrated to Canada in 1952, settling in Amherstburg Ontario. Predeceased by his father Donato (1981), mother Grazietta (1996), daughter Anna Astrologo (2001), son-in-law Concezio (1995), and son Mario (1952). Cherished husband of over 62 years to Angiolina. Loving father to daughter Linda Esposito and husband Ross, and son Pat Palumbo and wife Mical. Loving Nonno to Melissa Astrologo, Anthony Astrologo and wife Jennifer, Guy Paul Esposito and fiancee Amy Cormier, Gian Ross Esposito, Matthew Esposito, Benjamin and Rachel Palumbo. Dear brother to George Palumbo and wife Anna, Maria Salviti and husband Giuseppe. Brother-in-law to Antonio and Olivetta Conte, Rosalia and Frank D'Alimonte, Grazietta and Giuseppe DiPaolo, Lucia and Antonio D'Alimonte, Anna and Giovanni DiCarlo (Italy), Luisa and Giuseppe Palumbo (Italy), Donato and Maria Conte (Italy). Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Proud retiree from SKD Mfg. after 35 years service in 1988. Lifelong member of the Verdi Club and St. John the Baptist Church in Amherstburg in addition to being a veteran of the 4th Alpini Regiment of the Italian Army prior to immi-grating to Canada. Special thanks to all the good friends and great neighbours in his life, who were always willing to help during his golden years. He will be sorely missed by his best friend of 50 years, Maurice Bastien. Rocco was a man who found all his dreams in the greatest country on earth. Visiting at the JAMES H. SUTTON FUNERAL HOME, 401 Sandwich St. South, Amherst-burg (519-736-2134) on Tuesday from 2-5 & 7-9 p.m. Parish prayers Tuesday 8:00 p.m. Funeral Wednesday, February 9, 2011, from the funeral home at 10:00 a.m. to St. John the Baptist Church for Mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment to follow at St. John the Baptist Cemetery. As your expression of sympathy, donations to St. John The Baptist Restoration Fund or the Windsor Regional Hos-pital Palliative Care Unit. Online condolences & cherished memories may be shared with the family at www.jhsutton-funeral.ca A tree will be planted in memory of Rocco in the Sutton Heritage Forest. A dedication service will be held on Sunday, September 25th, 2011. All are welcome.
