Barbara Hurwitz
January 20, 2003
Our sincere sympathy to Rick, Stacie, Nichole and Shelly's entire extended family. Shelly and I have been friends since we were little girls in Sioux City, IA. Shelly was the most courageous person..an inspiration to all. I'm grateful that we were able to spend a day together last month in Florida. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

I just learned this morning of Shelly's passing. I extend my hope of strength to her family and friends, my love to my nieces, Staci and Nicole, and my wishes of warm and happy memories to all who knew and cared for her. Throughout the years, Shelly and I remained on friendly terms and we always exchanged greetings since she worked for Leo Dorfman just down the hall from my office. Baruch atah Adonai Eloheinu melech ha'olam dayan ha'emet. Blessed are You, Adonai Our G-d, Ruler of the Universe, Judge of Truth. Michael Perlman

Shelly was my friend since high school and we lived together in college for one year. A dear, sweet, kind, spunky and generous friend. In recent years we had a small club called the M.D.'s with our friend Elsabeth. Please email me for a recent picture. LAFS
