Rocky J. Malone

Rocky J. Malone, 47, of Davenport, passed away Tuesday, May 6, 2008, at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf following a brief illness. Funeral services will be held Friday, May 9, 2008, at 2:30 p.m. in the Runge Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. today at the mortuary. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society.
He was born January 4, 1961, in Davenport, the son of James and Trenna (Rochholz) Malone. Rocky was formerly employed by the Iowa Department of Transportation and M.A. Ford. Later, he was an assembler at John Deere Seeding in Moline.
He enjoyed attending the Quad Cities Cruiser Car Shows with his 1967 Dodge Charger and working on his cars. He was a family man and especially enjoyed spending time with his nieces and nephews and traveling.
Survivors include his mother, Trenna Malone; and sisters and brothers-in-law, Wanda and Steve Cole, of Corsicana Texas, Cheryl Malone and Steve, of Davenport, Nora and Scott "Tex" Jefferies, of Mount Pleasant, Iowa, and Sheila and Warren "Tony" Lovejoy, of Davenport. Five nieces, five nephews, five great-nieces, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins also survive.
He was preceded in death by his father in 1992, grandparents, Louis Rochholz in 2002 and Nora Rochholz in 2001, a niece and a nephew.
