Roderick MacLEOD Obituary
Roderick, of Aylmer, Ontario passed away at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital on Friday, October 25, 2013 in his 67th year. Beloved husband of Mary (Cross) MacLeod. Dear father of Andrea Lockless (Eric) of Orangeville, Alexis Politan of Lachine, Quebec and Chad MacLeod (Stefani ) of Valleyfield, Quebec. Loved by his grandchildren Kashmir, Jade, Cedrik, Rylie, Major, Shyanne and Trevin. Dearly loved and missed by the Cross family. Born in Halifax, Nova Scotia on December 6, 1946 son of the late Angus and Edna (David) MacLeod. Roderick was a courier driver in London. He lived in Montreal for many years and was a resident of Aylmer for the last 13 years. Roderick loved the outdoors and travelling on his motorcycle. A private family gathering will be held at the H.A. Kebbel Funeral home, Aylmer. Donations to the Liver Foundation or the Heart and Stroke Foundation appreciated by the family.

I used to hangout at the Tindale House on Richmond Square back in the 60's and Rod would run the Movie Projector on friday evenings for the neighourhood kids. He used take us out to the ball bark and he had the coolest bikes. I have great memories of him. My deepest sympathies to his family and friends. RIP ROD and ride on forever!

I first met Rod in 1963 at Montreal High.
In math class the teacher asked a question: What is the definition of a square?
Rod whispered in my ear: The opposite of a circle.
I stood up and said: The opposite of a circle. The teacher then said: Mr. Gaines, sit down you're a fool! Rod and the entire class were rolling on the floor with laughter.
Rod was the Big Brother I never had. His wisdom, humor and honesty allowed me to inherit these traits and infuse them into my writing to become the person I have become.

Hey Rod Sr. I didn't know you for very long, and it's been over thirty years since I've seen you, but the great memories will be with me forever. Like the time you took me for a ride on your bike, or the time we went to see the movie Popeye in 1980. Rest In Peace Rod.
