Members of 1st Baptist Congregational Church were blessed to have the Barrett sisters at Pastor Griffin`s last anniversary banquet. They were the featured guest and they blessed our hearts.

I never knew Rodessa Porter, but I have listened to the trio since 1974. I always hoped that I would meet her someday, but it wasn't meant to be. She stood out from the rest to me, not discounting Delois and Billie. I loved Rodessa's movements when she was singing. I live in Portage, Michigan, just outside of Kalamazoo. My prayers are with her family as you lay her to rest. Well done, thy good and faithful servant, come on up higher, your victory is won. Those were the words I spoke to my Mother before she passed.
Continue to sing , and I know Delois and Billie will be happy to reunite with you again. God's blessings upon you all. Carrol T. Blair .

Porter family, I am sending my condolences to your family during this time of transition of your lovely mother. I pray that the fond memories of the good times and celebrations with her give you peace and bring you joy. As believers we know we will see her again. Well done good and faithful servant. You made it home! Until we meet again your love and life will sustain us. I hear you sisters singing "I've got a new home, over in Glory, and it's mine all mine". Love you mother Porter. Hallelujah, you've made it to your new home.

RIP Rodessa Porter Barrett! I was deeply privileged to be able to learn more than average about the Black Church in Las Vegas, NV! The good always die too young & it is a shame we don't have current, music themed TV shows like the one shown here with the Barrett Sisters giving all of society an uplift for the glory of the Lord! God bless the Black Church of the USA: The AME, COGIC & Missionary Baptist especially remembered by me! Merry Xmas 2024 & Happy 2025 to all & lets' remember in our hearts the good ones still not alive who made us thrive!

The Barrett Sisters were icons of Gospel music in my childhood. What an awesome time in life as a student at the University of Memphis ( formerly Memphis State University) to hear their melodious music during Black History Month, in the Student Center Auditorium. The house was packed and Rodessa Barrett Porter took us to Church!! What an unforgettable experience! Long live her memory and legacy.

Sorry to hear of the passing of Rodessa. It brings comfort knowing she left a spiritual legacy. Rodessa used her powerful voice to praise our Heavenly Father in a wonderful way. Her life was devoted to this cause. Our Heavenly Father will also miss the sound of her lovely voice that she sang in his behalf. Our Heavenly Father will also remember all the wonderful things Rodessa did in the behalf of others. May God be with your lovely family.
