Sadly, I just learned of the passing of my long time brilliant colleague and friend, Rodger Collons. He was the Drexel University College of Business dean who hired me in 1975. After Rodger stepped down as dean to become a legal studies professor at Drexel, I would often stop by his faculty office to chat about numerous things, mostly positive, that we had experienced at Drexel over the years. Rodger had a marvelous sense of humor and was blessed with a quick gentle wit so our conversations were always lots of fun -- like two friendly old codgers rocking on a porch while reminiscing about past times. We both extended our academic careers at Drexel until we were in our mid-80s when the Covid virus made teaching remotely via zoom the norm rather than in-class teaching. When Rodger retired from Drexel, I knew it was about time for me to also retire as we were about the same age and we both loved teaching, so I retired a year after him. Now, at my own age of 89 which was Rodger's age at passing, I'll probably soon see my dear friend again in Heaven where we'll be able to chat and laugh again forever. May God bless all the members of Rodger's beloved family as they cherish their memories of this wonderful man. Rolph Anderson

I will always remember how deeply loved Mr. Collons was by his granddaughter, Marissa. To this day, she only speaks with high-praise in regards to him. Mr. Collons was a purposeful, intelligent, and caring man. He will be loved forever and deeply missed. I think of those close to him and pray they find peace in his memory.

I made rodger a homemade lure years ago. I fished as a kid in Florida. The biggest bass I ever caught was with corn. He laughed so, I used a corn cob holder added feathers bent over one of the tines and put it in a little gift box. We howled with laughter!! He enjoyed the clever joke! It looks like he may have used it too!! Rodger will be missed by all who had the pleasure knowing him. My sincere condolences to cindy and his family. God speed

A full One-Mississippi could be counted at the top of Roger's backswing before his down-swing started. He made you wonder what the word temp really meant.... God Speed Roger!

My pop pop was my biggest supporter and number one fan. I miss him every day. He was so funny. When I think about him I go back and forth between laughing and crying. He will be dearly missed.
