Rodney Flagg Obituary
From an early age, Rodney displayed remarkable talent in arts and crafts. His lifelike paintings captivated those who saw them, showcasing his artistic gift. As a young adult, he developed a passion for vintage radio programs, amassing an impressive collection of recordings from the 1940s, 1950s, and 1960s. Rodney also had a love for sports and was once an avid runner who participated in competitions, including one that brought him to Washington State.
Rodney's interests extended to collecting DVDs and following basketball and baseball. He enjoyed reading about sports figures and Bible stories, reflecting his curiosity and thoughtful nature. A longtime resident of Monrovia, he cherished his independence and found joy in walking through his neighborhood. With the support of his service provider, Norma, and social worker, Isabella, Rodney was able to live life on his own terms.
He was actively involved in his community through organizations like The Sunshine Club in Monrovia and had participated in The Special Olympics. Rodney's vibrant spirit left an indelible mark on those who knew him.
Rodney is remembered with love by his sister Sukari; cousins Donnetta and Gail; niece Alexia (Christopher) and their son Connor; as well as numerous other cousins, friends, and family members. He will forever be cherished as a bright light within his family.
May eternal rest be granted unto him, O Lord, and may perpetual light shine upon him. Through the mercy of God, may Rodney's soul rest in peace. Amen.
Interment: Shreveport, Louisiana
