Rodney H. "Rod" Ledet

Lt. Col. Ret. Rodney "Rod" H. Ledet, 79 OCEANSIDE -- Rod Ledet passed away Wednesday, March 11, 2009 at home, in the arms of his bride of nearly 54 years. He lived in Oceanside for 36 years. Rodney was born on December 1, 1929 in Bogalusa, Louisiana to Alcide Joseph Ledet and Margie Folse Ledet. He graduated from Bogalusa H.S. in 1948. He attended Southeastern College in Hammond, LA and graduated with in 1953. He entered the United States Marine Corps. in July of 1953. He entered the flight program in Pensacola, FL. as a 2nd Lt. and received his wings in December of 1955. In April of 1955, Rod married Barbara Ann Huff, also from Bogalusa, LA. They had four children. Rod finished his 30 year military career at Camp Pendleton in October of 1977. His hobbies included fishing, hunting and golfing. He is survived by his loving family - his wife of nearly 54 years, Barbara Ledet of Oceanside; his daughters, Lora Manzo (Guido) of N.J., and Dana Ledet (Marty Parrill) of Oceanside; sons, Al (Michelle) Ledet and Rodney (Rosemarie) Ledet, all of Oceanside;p granddaughters, Melanie Manzo-Duchateau (Nolan) of San Diego, and Marissa Manzo of N.J.; step- grandchildren, Bryan Parrill of No. Hollywood, Brooke Parrill of Oregon, and Meghan and Laura Bissonnette of Canada.
