Rod and Sue sold us their garden spot. Rod would always come visit us when we came in from fishing. So friendly and interesting. He gave me his broken down wheel barrel and I have it filled with flowers in his memory. What a wonderful man!

Mr Maxwell-Muir was my art teacher for 3 yrs at Alpha Secondary School in Burnaby during the early 1970s. He was a kind and considerate teacher who eventually taught me to make better art.

My mom worked with Rod at Alpha Secondary school in Burnaby BC. He was one of her favourite teachers. I have many of his pottery pieces including a set of canisters that still sit on my kitchen counter today. My mom gave the set to me for Christmas in about 1976 or 1977. I have valued my Maxwell Muir pieces for many years now. My mom spoke fondly of Rod and mom and dad even visited him and Sue in Chinook one year while traveling down the coast of Washington. My canister set is an everyday memory of my mother and Rod Maxwell Muir "the art teacher at Alpha". I am so sorry for your loss.

Ah Rod...we were such close friends since meeting in the fall of 1965. What wonderful times we shared, watching our kids grow up and spending wonderful visits together at both our homes. Thank you for taking me clamming for razors and eating them sashimi style with me. I love you 'Rotteny' and will see you in the future. From your old friend 'Arinor'.
