Family-Placed Obituary


SHACKLEFORD, L. Rodney Age 61 of Hamilton passed away in The Hospice Unit of Ft. Hamilton Hospital on Saturday September 10, 2005. He was born in Newark, New Jersey on January 20, 1944 the son of Bruce Scott and Eleanor (Masiero) Shackleford. He married Rose Marie Pike on January 9, 1963 in Overpeck, Ohio and she preceded him in death on August 30, 2005. He served in the United States Marine Corps and was a member of the American Legion #284. He is survived by his parents Bruce Scott of Brownsville, Texas and Eleanor Shackleford, of Hamilton, Ohio; son Rodney Shackleford II and daughter Kim Brooks and her husband Bryan, all of Hamilton, Ohio; four grandchildren Samantha Brooks, Joshua Brooks, Elizabeth "Bug" Brooks, and Cindy Powell; two great grandchildren Alina and Tristan Apadoca; two brothers Don and Bill Shackleford, both of Hamilton, and a sister Ellie Carr of Clearwater, Florida. He was also preceded in death by a sister Mary Jane Morton. Funeral services will be held at The Webb Noonan Funeral Home, Ross Avenue at "D" Street on Wednesday September 14, 2005 at 7:30 p.m. with visitation from 5:00 p.m. until time of service. Burial with military services will be in Hickory Flat Cemetery.
