Roger Anderson Obituary

Visit the Legacy Remembers website to view the full obituary.

On June 27th, our father, Roger Anderson was called home. After fighting a long battle. He was one-of-a-kind. And his door was always open and his opinion was never questioned. His life was filled. With two marriages, 6 kids, 18 grandkids and 2 great grandsons. He was diligent on family. Traditions. Such as roller skating, camping, apple and asparagus picking, and golfing and making sure everyone has a home cooked meal. His wisdom was shared. If you wanted it or not. He was fierce, sarcastic, stubborn and hardworking, not only for employment, but for building, sewing and always doing something.

His military stories and sibling rivalry were the point of many conversations. His love for golf has been shared with all the kids and even through the last few years he wasn't able to play, we still watched it and talked about the games as well as swapping golf clubs and golf balls he had. Now he is back looking for that hole in one.

He demanded that we did not get excessive with his passing, so we will cherish his wishes. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Jesse and Irv. Mother-in-law and father-in-law Theresa and Jerald. As well as his oldest brother Tom. And his younger brother Jack. As well as many friends along the way. He survived by his wife, Debora Anderson and children: Roger Anderson II, Lisa Teichert, Joshua Anderson (Khou Yang), James Anderson, Jessica Sturm, Justin Anderson. (Roger's children) Desiree and Davonte. (Lisa’s Children) Paige, Hope, and Chase. (Paige’s Children) Niko and Luka. (Josh and Khou’s children) Elijah, Emma, Ezra, Emmitt, and Evan. (James's Children) Jacob, Kylea Han, and Hannah. (Jessicas Children) Julia, Carmen, Isaac, Vanessa. and Gio. Not forgetting many of our friends, as well as his sisters, Judy and Susan and brother William.

He was born in Holland, MI, July 23rd, 1949. And his family traveled. To Seattle, WA and back. In 1967. He took the adventure of Vietnam. Then he moved to the Appleton Fox Cities area in 1978, making it home. It was a strong, stubborn man that proved doctors wrong for decades. He survived his military experience and fatherhood with four boys and two girls. That was not for the week as Andersons know. We want to thank Moments Hospice and the great team Linda and Nikki . Thank you f or all the help and care you gave our father.

Our father's wisdom was life happens and we all know things come to an end. but we're not ending here. We will keep his legacy alive. From the Wild souls, fearless choices, and adventures ahead. Dad wanted nothing but. A barbecue and a gathering to remember him by.

We will be hosting a Celebration of life BBQ. July 23rd. At Lynnwood Park. In Appleton. 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
