Who was Roger Frederick Andrews? October 20 1951-September 1, 2025

Roger Andrews was the long-awaited son of Frederick and Janet Andews, born on October 20, 1951. Roger had three sisters: Beverly Andrews Byrne, Shirley Andrews Schultz and Gail Andrews Bufalini who doted on him. He seemed to get away with a lot because he was a blue-eyed blonde full of mischief and cute. He was prepared with an appropriate joke for any situation and often shared his best ones more than once. Roger's sense of humor was one of his life-long gifts.

Roger went to Our Lady of Good Counsel School for eight years. School was a source of aggravation for him because he was

a perfectionist. If he couldn't do his assignments perfectly, he wouldn't do them at all. Roger was very intelligent and excelled in other ways. In spite of the fact that he couldn't do all things perfectly, he graduated from St. Anthony High School and the Detroit Institute of Technology with a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration specializing in Marketing and Economics. Roger worked as a purchasing agent and later was involved in sales.

Roger worked through high school and college for Bur-Ler's Variety Store and Mongomery Wards. Roger loved talking to people. He had many friends and held on to them from the kids in the neighborhood to people he worked with, to the friends made playing tennis at Wimbledon in St. Clair Shores and friends made at senior living.

Roger volunteered all of his life from childhood as an altar boy, to a fund- raising operator for public television for ten years. He volunteered at the public library teaching reading in their literacy program for many years. Roger was a Knight of Columbus for many years and received commendations for his work. He was also on the Board of Motor City Credit Union now Christian Financial Credit Union. He will be remembered for his kindness to all whom he knew. He will be missed by his dear friend, Marie Ferguson and all who knew and loved Roger.
