Roger Castillo Obituary
The dead officer was identified as Roger Castillo. The name of the dead female officer has not been released. One suspect was also killed in the gun battle. Another suspecty is in custody, according Miami-Dade Mayor Carlos Alvarez. Investigators say they're not looking for any other suspects.

I'm at a loss. I was watching Fugitive on TV and at the end of the episode Roger Castillo name appeared in memory. I rushed to my computer to look him up. I feel as though I know him. I never had the honor of meeting Roger Castillo or his family, but my heart has been bleeding for them since I saw the news about his death and that of the other officer. Roger was my neighbor back in the 90's, and he was an awesome person. Roger came from an outstanding family, as his Mom and Grandfather also were my neighbors, and were beautiful people. I moved away and lost touch with the Castillo's, but never forgot them. My sincere condolonces and deepest sympathies go out to Roger and ALL the Castillo family. May God give them the strength to carry on.

He put his life on the line everyday so that we may be safe, I am sorry for your loss, I wish I could snap my fingers and may your pain go away. I know what it is like to lose the person that you love. I too lost a family member, he was killed in the line of duty. I recognize his face from First 48, and I am devastated. I am also a resident in St. Petersburg and we lost 2 officers yesterday. I knew Roger for a few months many, many years ago. Even back then as he started his law enforcement career, he LIVED for it. He loved being a police officer. I remember him being so great with children and I knew he would make an amazing father some day. We have really lost someone special.
