I remember fondly the close friendship that he and I had which started in the early sixties. Thanks Roger for the memories. My best to the family.

Jackie: Very sorry to hear of Roger's death from Sarah Pettis. We went through Yuba City High School together but I only saw him a few times after that long ago time. He had a wonderful personality which didn't change much through the years. Had a hilarious ride in some crazy car of his in the later years. Joan Joaquin

Charlie, Chris, Jackie, and extended family, I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Although Roger and I clearly had opposing political views, we found commonality in other very important things. I remember a conversation we had about children with special needs. At that moment, he was truly my hero. May he rest in peace.

I have so many fond memories of Roger (and Jackie) as a child growing up on Lincoln / Ohleyer road. He was always kind, warm and funny.
I am on vacation in Mexico so won't be able to attend his service but send my condolences to his family.
He was a Yuba City legend.

Roger, about 1950, gave me my first job when I was about 12 years old to count peach boxes. The count was never right but Roger never said a word. A great boss. My father was a friend of Roger through Frank Aaron, a long and trusted friend of the Chandler family. My heartfelt condolences Jackie. Walter Burke

A model father and pillar of the community. Roger never got involved with anything half-way; when he was "in" it was total commitment. I saw this firsthand as he, with a handful of other dads, actively steered local scouting's every step for many years. He knew the value of showing up, and show up he did, every time. He also never missed an opportunity to connect with others in a personal way. Instead of a note, it was a visit or a phone call, with a warm touch. Few people can show with actual deeds and service how they bettered their world, but Roger was one of them. A life very well-lived, Mr. C; thanks for everything.

Dear Chandler Family, Roger left us with many fond memories and accomplished so much in his life, we would be remiss if we did not recognize all he did on earth. You are in our thoughts and prayers and will hope his stories are told often.

Roger was a friend, mentor, and supporter. He was a man of both integrity and pragmatism. May he, and his family, find peace.
