I'm greatly saddened that Roger Corman has passed away. But I'm sure that his family recognizes how much Roger and his works have been loved. I've been a fan of Roger Corman's since 1960, starting with "House of Usher," when I was barely 6 years old. I was then already a big Edgar Allen Poe fan from listening to Basil Rathbone's recordings of Poe's poems and stories. So, I begged my parents to take me to our local theater to see "House of Usher." And they obliged, taking me to see every Roger Corman film since based on Poe's works. It didn't matter to me that Roger's films had a life of their own apart from Poe's works. Now, Roger belongs to the ages.

Roger was a true "man of the cinema," as Elizabeth Shepherd described him. His influence on film worldwide across so many generations is incalculable. He is deeply missed-- my heart goes out to his family.
