Roger Ellyson Obituary
Roger loved all things fishing and baseball. His motto was "a bad day fishing is better than a good day doing just about anything else". And his love of baseball went back to his childhood when he played for Tuckahoe Little League where he was a member of the 1968 Tuckahoe team that made it to the Little League World Series. But by far his greatest joy were his children and granddaughters and he loved every minute he spent with them.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 am Saturday, April 6, 2024, at Springfield Christian Church, 18285 Vontay Road, Rockville, VA 23146.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Springfield Christian Church.

I have nothing but great memories about Roger! We shared awesome memories playing baseball together many years ago! He was an excellent player, always smiling and he will be missed by all that knew him!! Rest in peace my man.

I remember cheering on the sidelines with Em and we would always see her dad there supporting and interacting with us. There was never a dull moment when he was in the stands. Sending all my love to your family.

Wishing peace, comfort, and love to our family. Something special I´ll always remember, is when Roger, Jay and myself were sitting with Nanny in her yard and a flock of birds swooped over our heads and landed on the electrical wires. We all sat quietly with smiles on our face. I loved that moment so much, I bought a metal cut out of that very scene!
