Roger coached as my assistant track and field coach in the early 1970's. In 1973 we won the team title in the PIAA State Track and Field Championships. He was a very dedicated coach in a number of sports at Norristown.

I just stumbled across the loss of Mr. Roger Grove. The best Norristown Area Sr. High School Football coach EVER! I am Class of 1980. I remember the days how I watched Mr. Grove interact with his football players during football games. I remember (I believe) Steve Bono was our HS quarterback and I remember another standout player Timmy Carroll. He was tough with his players, but genuine and kind at the same time. He was a very nice man. Thank you for the good memories Mr. Grove during my high school years for making our football team win games and leading us to championships. I am very saddened by your loss.

Roger Grove devoted his entire adult life to helping young men achieve their dreams. His selfless dedication, unimpeachable integrity and unflinching loyalty to the young men with whom he worked made him an exemplary role model for all of them as well as those of us who were fortunate to be his colleagues. His legacy will live on in the lives of those
whose lives touched his. May he rest in peace.

I will alway appreciate Roger's humous philosphy of life and perspecitive on why things are the way they are. Quite honestly, it got me through many a trying day of teaching at NAHS. "Smitty", retired NAHS Art Department Teacher

Coach was always very supportive of our middle school football program at Eisenhower. He appreciated the basics that we pushed and would always thank me when we would see each other. He was Norristown Football! My thoughts and prayers are with the Grove Family during this difficult time.

Coach Grove was a wonderful indivual and an excellent teacher. He inspired me, along with his team @NAHS in 2002, to maintain a fit, sporty, well-trained regime through his encouragement in phys ed and organized sports as an elective. I wasn't particularly athletic at the time. I thank him and will remember him well for this.
