Your pop loved you all so much. His face glowed when you were around. He could not wait to call and tell about your cute little adventures. He was so proud of each of you. He took pride in giving you your first hair cuts and most of all when he taught you to say "POP". You were the pride of his life and recall many times he would tell how much love he had for his grandchildren. He was a treasure and I have a empty place in my heart. He made all feel so special and had a heart of gold. I think about him everyday and hope I can share many memories of your wonderful "POP" with you...Your Great Aunt Glenda

Sometimes God picks the flower that is in full bloom; sometimes the rosebud's chosen that we feel he picked to soon.
Sometimes the flower is fading with petal floating down, but God knows the perfect time to gather flowers from the ground.
There is a heavenly garden in which God takes great pleasure because He's placed within it the loved one that we treasure.
He walks among the blossoms giving them eternal rest, and I know that it must please Him because He chose my brother the best. I miss you...Your sister...Glenda

My precious brother is gone and still greatly missed. I thank the Lord for wonderful Madonna and children. You were so important to Roger and such a joy in his life. Thank you! His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches you. God wants us to turn to Him with our pain, our challenges, and our questions. As a believer, you know that the events in your life are not random. God will use this time to strengthen your faith and to make your walk with Him even more precious. Be encouraged in the Lord. The most painful time in your life can be something you would never wish on anyone and yet it can develop you spiritually in ways you never would have. My thoughts are with you and prayers for peace and comfort.

Madonna, What a wonderful way to honor Roger for the great faith and family heritage he left for his family. You two were always the cutest couple. Envied by most I'm sure. Your love for each other radiated from your whole being. Few people these days get to experience such blessing.

It's been two months and I cant stop thinking about him. What a great guy and true friend. That sense of humor...I cant remember him EVER being truly mad at anyone. He was absolutly one of a kind. I love him and miss him. I guess God needed someone with a consistent smile and competitive spirit! If so, He wont be disappointed!
We'll always be here for you MaDonna.

I will always remember Roger with a huge smile on his face. I don't think I ever saw him without one. He seemed to meet each school day with such enthusiasm and energy. I remember when you and Roger first started dating, he would walk down the school hall with you on his arm, and his grin would be from ear to ear. Roger was a great guy, and everyone around him benefited for knowing him.

Madonna, I always cherished Roger's friendship and good spirit. We feel especially blessed to have had you and Roger visit us last year and to have spent time with him playing tennis, listening to his guitar playing and laughing together. My biggest regret is not getting over to see you two in Nashville. I will always think about Roger with a smile on my face as he would have wanted me to have. Debbie and I both love you and share in your loss.

I would like to extend deepest sympathies to you, Madonna, your children and grandchildren for the loss of such a good guy. I have never forgotten his kindess and how he "put up" with me when our family first came to the Church of God of Prophecy in Culloden. I rmember going to Roger's graduation from Milton High School. My mother was relating to us all of her memories of Roger and the entire family tonight when I told her of the passing of Roger. My parents, Bishop C. Wilburn and Janet Mitchell loved him very much. His memory will live on in all of us.

Madonna....I'm so sorry for your loss....the last time I saw the two of you; Chad was a baby at the Culloden Church of God of Prophecy. I remember how he said he was "stunned" when you got up and played the piano in church one night (he said he had no idea)....He was a wonderful guitar player...I was very young then myself, maybe 11 or 12, but I've never forgotten him or how I used to love the sound of your name.

Madonna: I just learned of Roger going to be with the Lord. From reading the guest book and the obit it would certainly appear that Roger the wrestler never got old, he just grew up a little bit. I am sure all that knew him were the better for knowing him. The pictures were beautiful. The last contact I had with Roger was just after the class reunion last year. He asked a few questions about the church I Pastor, and than said "whitey, I'm proud of what you are doing" wow, amazing how a few words from another person can make a big difference. I am certain that your Roger heard the Lord say to him "Roger, I'm proud of you, and what you did, welcome home son, I'll take care of your family while you're here with me" God bless.

Madonna and family, I am so saddened with Rogers passing. You two were the perfect couple - always. I enjoyed seeing you at our reunion. As ususal, you were full of friendship and love for everyone. We never know when God will call us home. But, there is no doubt that Roger is with God preparing a place for those who will join him. You've been in my prayers and I hope the prayers you've received and the precious memories you have will sustain you through the days to come. Your friend,

God saw you getting tired and a cure was not to be. So he put his arms around you and whispered "come with me". With tearful eyes I watched you, and saw you pass away. Although I loved you dearly, I could not make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating, hard working hands at rest. God broke my heart to prove to me, he only takes the BEST. You will be missed!
