Roger Herr Obituary
Roger Peter Herr returned to the Lord December 27, 2016. The story of his life, curtailed much too soon, is one of true love and realized dreams. Strong-willed and gentle-spirited, Roger was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Roger was born in Alexandria, Va. and raised in Florida. At 18, he joined the US Air Force during the Vietnam Era. While stationed in San Antonio, he met the love of his life Maria Teresa Herr. Married for 47 years, they built their dream home and filled it with love and the joyful ruckus of grandchildren. Roger loved technology, dogs, and horses, alike. As a younger man, he was a prized showman, and he later was an entrepreneur and pioneer of the computer industry. He also enjoyed life as a master gardener, avid traveler, and political consultant. Roger is survived by his wife, three children Roger Jr., Eric, and Jacqueline, eight grandchildren Maddie, Tessa, Paloma, Odette, Noah, Emilia, Santiago, and Alex, as well as loved ones throughout the world. The Rosary (Jan. 2 at 7pm) and Memorial Mass (Jan. 3 at 10am) will both be held at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in San Antonio.

Jay and I are very sad to hear of your loss. Roger was my boss and mentor but also a good friend. He was intelligent, encouraging and optimistic. I remember him bragging about Tessa and the kids - he was so proud of you all. God bless you during this time of grief. We will see Roger again in Heaven.

I worked with Roger from time to time at Datapoint when our functions crossed, but more often had the good fortune to hang out with him and the other marketing folks at happy hour. I will always remember Roger as the consummate professional, and a terrific guy.

What a great slideshow of Roger and family through the years....we had a lot of fun times with the Herr Family. Roger will be deeply missed but we have many memories to keep close. Amazing how much those young photos of Roger and Tessa look so much like Roger, Jr, Eric & Jackie today. Sending healing prayers and comforting hugs. I am so sorry for your loss. Love to all.
