Roger Lauvelle Kees passed away Monday, September 20th at his home in Alabama at the age of 68. He was born in Alexandria, LA. He lived and worked as an elevator mechanic (Local 16) in Baton Rouge, LA until his retirement, where he moved to Alabama to be close to his grandchildren, Michaela and Shelby. Roger is survived by his wife, Susan Bishop Kees; his daughters, Teri Kees Spence and Destry Graves, and his sons, Joseph David Kees and Brian Wesley Kees and wife, Rebekah; his brothers, Mike Malone, Crawford Malone, and Doyle Malone; his sisters, Joann Wood and Jacqui Smith; his grandchildren, Amber Fairburn, Christopher Fairburn, Michaela Spence, and Shelby Spence. And his great-grandchildren, Tanner and Gavin Walker. Roger is deeply loved and dearly missed. He was a poet and when asked about what would happen after he died, Roger said, "I'll travel the stars."
